The Reflections Program is a National PTA cultural arts competition. It is a great opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. The Reflections Program is structured for PTAs to recognize students at the local, council, state, and national levels. The theme for this year is “What My Culture Means to Me.”  Students may submit ONE entry in one of six categories. Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas include:

• Literature -- works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.
• Music Composition -- original musical composition, with or without words.
• Photography -- prints may not be smaller than 3X5 and up to 8x10 inches in color or black and white, including techniques: photogram, retouched, montage, sandwich and multiple exposure.
• Visual Arts -- drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & t-shirt paints, computer generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling.
• Film Production -- original works, with or without sound, of animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film.
• Dance Choreography -- originally choreographed dance composition.
• Accessible Arts -- This Division is an option for students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504. The division welcomes students of all 
  ages and offers division-specific accommodations to ensure that every student has the chance to participate fully in the program.

   Submissions are due

by Wed Nov 4.

• Email a high-quality picture/video/file of the entry to communications@dickinsonptsa.org by Nov 4 (Check out the accepted formats/sizes in the guidelines on the entry form.)
• Turn in the original entry to the school front desk the week of Nov 4.
• Make sure the name of the participant is NOT displayed anywhere on the artwork, so that judging can be done anonymously.
